How to Design Cool Logo using Bevel and Emboss Effects in Photoshop

Hello Guys!! In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to How to Design Cool Logo using Bevel and Emboss Effects in Photoshop. A logo can be described as the face of a company.  Quite often, it’s the first thing that a likely customer will notice about your business. A logo is much more than just an icon it is a point of identification for clients.  A well-designed logo is an easy way to convey to the customers that your business is professional, trustworthy, and provides quality goods or services.

Fonts used:
    • Aparajita BOLD
    • Bauhaus 93
Step 01
  • Open the Photoshop software.
  • Go to the “File” menu and click on the “NEW”(you can also use Ctrl+N).
  • Select the size according to your requirement.
  • Now take the new layer and select the “Horizontal Type Tool” from the “Text Tool”.
  • You can select any font, here I m using “Aparajita Bold”.
  • Now write the alphabet “D”.
  • Again take the new layer and write alphabet “O” in the next line.
  • Adjust both the alphabets as you wish, here I m overlapping both the alphabets at one end of “D”.

Step 02
  • Now take a new layer.
  • Go to the “Shape Tool” and select the “Ellipse Tool”.
  • Draw a circle around the alphabets.
  • Adjust the color and size of the stroke from the “Stroke option”.
  • Now press Ctrl+T and resize the circle.
  • Right click on the “Ellipse layer” and select “Rasterize Layer”.Now take the “Pen Tool”(you can use any Selection Tool).
  • Select the area of the circle which overlapping on “D” and deletes selected area.
  • Do the same processes for the area which overlay on “O”.

Step 03
  • Now we will give silver look to the alphabets (it’s all off to you which look you want to give).
  • Take a silver background(it will open in a new tab).
  • Double click on the silver background layer and unlock it.
  • Now select the “Move Tool” and drag the silver background to the original design canvas.
  • It will be overlapping on the whole design.
  • Now bring the cursor between “Silver layer” and “O layer”.
  • Now press “Alt” and then click, the silver layer will overlap on the “O” and its look like the silver alphabet.
  • Did you notice that “O” is overlapping on “D”.so go to the “O layer” and “Add Mask Layer.”
  • Now take the “Brush Tool” and drag on the area which overlapping on “D”.
  • Now apply the silver look on liter “D”(don’t apply mask layer on “D layer”).

Step 04
  • Now right click on “O Layer” and select “Blending Options”.
  • Tick on “Bevel&Emboss” also on “Contour” and “Satin” and then click on OK.
  • Do the same processes for “D Layer”.
  • Now right click on the “Ellipse Layer” and apply the same Effect on the circle.

Step 05
  • Take a new layer.
  • Now take “Text Tool” and select the font style and size.
  • Write below the circle your company name, here I write “DesignOptimal”.
  • Now right click on “DesignOptimal Layer” and select “Blending Options”.
  • Apply the same effect as we apply for circle.
  • Now let’s add background, so open background which you want to add.
  • Here I m using Leather background, so double click on the leather background layer and unlock it.
  • Now drag the leather background into original design canvas and keep this layer above the original background layer.
  • Now press Ctrl+T and adjust the background.
  • Here is the final outcome.
