Hello everyone!! Today we are going to show you “How to Create Stepped Letters Effect in Adobe Illustrator”. In this tutorial, we will show you a very simple step to apply a Stepped Letters Effect.

Step 01
- Open the Adobe Illustrator software.
- Go to the “File” menu and click on the “New” option.
- Select the size of the file according to your requirements.
- Now go to the “Tools Bar” and take the “Rectangle Tool”.
- Draw a rectangle on the artboard and fill it with black color.
- Now again go to the “Tools Bar” and take the “Type Tool”.
- Write the text on which you want to apply the effect.
- Right-click on the text and click on the “Create Outlines” option.
- Again right-click on the text and click on the “Ungroup” option.
- Go to the “Tools Bar” and select the “Rectangle Tool”.
- Draw a rectangle on the text and cover the whole text.

Step 02
- Keep selected the rectangle, go to the “Object” menu then go to the “Path” option and click on the “Split into Grid”.
- A “Split into Grid” window will be opened.
- Select the “Rows” according to your point of view.
- Now select the “Text and Rectangle”.
- Go to the “Pathfinder” and click on the “Divide” button.
- Now right click on the rectangle and click on the “Ungroup” option.
- Remove all the unwanted materials.
- Now your text is split into small portions.

Step 03
- Select the “First Line” of all the text by holding the “Shift” key and press “Ctrl+G”.
- Do the same for all lines.
- Now hold the “Shift Key” and select the “1st and 3rd” lines.
- Go to the “Effect” menu, open the “3D” option and click on the “Rotate”.
- A “3D Rotate Options” window will be opened.
- open the “Position” menu and select the “Isometric Top” option the click ok.
- Now select the “2nd and 4th” lines of the text.
- Go to the “Effect” menu and open the “3D Rotate Options” window.
- Open the “Position” menu and select the “Isometric Left” option.
- Open the “Surface” menu and select the “Diffuse Shading” option.
- Arrange all the text and group all.
- Now drag the text and place it in the center of the “Art Board”.
- And the description or any text you want.
- Here is your “Stepped Letters Design” is ready.
