Hello, everyone today we are going to show you “How to Create Billboard Design in Adobe Photoshop”. In this tutorial, you will learn how to design a billboard. Don’t worry if you are new here this is a step by step tutorial also have a screenshot of each step so you can practice it by yourself by downloading the project PSD file.

Billboards are typically placed in high traffic areas, such as along highways and cities, so they’re seen by the highest number of drivers and pedestrians. Billboard advertising is effective for building brand awareness and broadcasting your business (or product or campaign) to as many people as possible.

Step 01
  • Open the Adobe Photoshop software.
  • Go to the “File” menu and click on the “New” option.
  • Select the size of the “New Document”.
  • Make a “Guide Line” by using the “Ruler”.
  • Now select the “Rectangle Tool” from the “Tools Bar”.
  • Draw a rectangle over the canvas and fill it with any color.
  • Make sure that the “Stroke” is also applied.

Step 02
  • Take the “Ellipse Tool” from the “Tools Bar”.
  • Draw a “Circle” at the center of the canvas.
  • Again take the “Rectangle Tool” from “Tools Bar”.
  • Draw a “Thin Rectangle” at the center of the canvas.
  • Now select the “Circle Layer” and press “Ctrl+T” and resize the circle.
  • After resizing the circle press “Enter” on keyboard.

Step 03
  • Place the “Circle Layer” above the “Thin Rectangle Layer”.
  • Hold down the “Ctrl Key” and click on the “Circle Layer Thumbnail”.
  • Now select the “Thin Rectangle Layer” and right-click on it.
  • A new menu will be opened click on the “Rasterize Layer” option.
  • Again select the circle layer and press “Ctrl+T” then make a little bit smaller the size of the circle.
  • Press “Ctrl+J” it will duplicate the same circle.
  • Then press “Ctrl+T” and resize the duplicate circle and place it as shown in screenshot 3.4.
  • Now go to the “File” menu and click on the “Place” option.
  • Select the image which you want to place in the banner.
  • Bring the “Cursor” between the 1st circle and the image which you want to place.
  • Hold down the “Alt” key a downward arrow will appear simply click on the mouse.
  • So the image will appear inside the circle.

Step 04
  • Again go to the “File” menu and place your logo.
  • Make a copy of the small circle and place it on both sides as shown.
  • Now take the “Type Tool” from the “Tools Bar”.
  • Add the text which you want to add as shown in screenshot 4.4.
  • Now select the background layer and go to the “File” menu.
  • Click on the “Place” option and place the background image.
  • Finally, your Billboard design is ready.
